Water Service Work

We have been repairing and installing water services for over 40 years. We have our own equipment to dig, bore, and repair. CO2 cylinders to freeze lines where no shutoff is available.

LEAD SERVICE REPLACEMENT

Since 2018 there has been a shift to replacement vs repair with regard to lead water services. Lead pipe was used for this underground section from the city main in street, to the water meter in basement. Lead pipe is soft and malleable which made it easy to work with and does rust like steel. Unfortunately lead can leach into the water it carries. In Aurora and surrounding towns homes built before 1970 usually have a lead water service. Lead pipe is easy to identify. Its commonly comes out of the basement floor by your water meter. Text us a picture and we identify for you.

Directional Boring

Directional Boring is a way to install pipe underground. It is a trenchless solution that allows the operator to steer and change depth while drilling. We have our own boring machine and it is the preferred method to install water services.

We use this machine to run water lines underground, specifically the line that connects your home with the city's water main in the street. This pipe is referred to as your "water service". In northern Illinois this line is buried five feet deep to prevent freezing in the winter. Our machine allows us to maintain this depth and bring the water service into your house (basement) at a precise location.
